{"id":10210,"date":"2018-12-30T12:55:03","date_gmt":"2018-12-30T17:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mentordiscoverinspire.org\/2018\/12\/30\/men-define-terms-for-successful-careers\/"},"modified":"2021-04-24T16:25:08","modified_gmt":"2021-04-24T20:25:08","slug":"men-define-terms-for-successful-careers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mentordiscoverinspire.org\/men-define-terms-for-successful-careers\/","title":{"rendered":"Men Define Terms for Successful Careers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>We queried some of the men in our circles about their own definitions of &#8220;successful careers,&#8221; and here is what they came up with:<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>50 years a musician<br>42 years in the same job<br>30 years YMAW<br>Oh yeah,&#8230;.. and&#8230;.<br>42 years DaD<br>20 years Grandad<br>Go find some place to make a positive difference out there<br>Lord knows they need all the help they can get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Brad Leslie <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A successful career is one  which affords me the opportunity to live the life I choose to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Rich O&#8217;Keeffe <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I know I am successful, when: my professional contacts return to me for service; when I am forgiven for mistakes; when my relationships grow beyond professional topics and encompass human events and causes; when I wake up in the morning, looking forward to &#8220;whatever comes my way&#8221; because I can dig my way out of a slump and use the energy of joy to help someone else rise out of a sine-wave trough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pete Hymans <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Earn a comfortable living.
