How viciously it wields it\u2019s weapon<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is the root<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is the wound<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is the string that controls us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We jump<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We run<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We bark like a dog<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When fear is yapping at us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We shrink back<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And answer<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like it holds the truth<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like it holds power over us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like it knows us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Better than we know ourselves<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it does<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has always been there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the first time you stubbed your toe<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the first time you were left alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the first time you were rejected<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It sung out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like a falsetto prophet<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eager to convince you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of your failings<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your weaknesses<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your flaws<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear gets under your skin<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under your heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under your head<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And wreaks havoc<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it can<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it knows you are afraid<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it knows you believe<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That it is the truth<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But somewhere inside<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Somewhere forgotten and lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Somewhere in shackles<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your soul knows better<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know better<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Too long it has held sway<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over your every move<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Too long it has tightened the bonds<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That have held you hard and fast<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To your perceived limitations<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Too long it has had its way with you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Telling you who you are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What you can do<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And why you will fail<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the wicked secret<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is that fear is afraid<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is scared<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is small and alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it knows it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear is a weak and pathetic tyrant<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Screaming and demanding<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your attention<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your subservience<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your greatness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As some payment to hold from you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its tiny coiffures<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But once you know the secret<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once you hold your power<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once you step from the bonds of slavery<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the shadows of your reactivity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the doubt of your greatest self<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear has no power<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it never had any<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Except what you gave it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the time is yours to redefine<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yourself<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To re-examine<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yourself<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To stand on your own two feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And realize what you are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who you are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why you are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And step back into your seat of honor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
